In early August 2014, AKD received the ISO 14298 certificate for the Management of Security Printing Processes, which encompasses the highest security levels for the design, production and individualization of smart cards, personal documents of all types and other documents and security-sensitive printed matter which AKD produces for both governmental and commercial purposes, and which require exceptional protective and security features. Based on the set security requirements, this certificate encompasses the upgraded and enhanced CWA criteria, primarily in the field of extensive IT security requirements, and its raising to the level of ISO certification constitutes a globally recognizable and accepted guarantee of quality operations. This certificate – yet another in a series of valuable certifications granted to AKD – serves as firm evidence that the company’s operations have been aligned with clearly identified security printing management processes listed in the formal documentation for the certification procedure as the best practices. Thus far, the ISO 14298 certificate for the Management of Security Printing Processes has been acquired by only five companies from three European countries: Groupe Imprimerie Nationale (France), Morpho (France), E-Kart Elektronik (Turkey), MTM holografi (Turkey) and Andrews & Wykeham Ltd. (England). The fact that, alongside our competitors such as Imprimerie and Morpho, AKD has joined a select group of companies that possess this certificate certainly constitutes an additional qualitative basis for negotiating further contracts in the field of high-security printing, particularly those awarded in local and international tenders, because the fulfilment of specific criteria, such as the possession of certain certificates, represents a genuine advantage in many resepects. The ISO 14298 certificate for the Management of Security Printing Processes has been granted to us for a period of three years.
